Hello my lovely year one parents,

A few reminders for this week.

Leaving OLC

As some of you may know I will not be at OLC next year. I have absolutely loved my time at this school and teaching your special children. I have decided to do relief teaching in order to go travelling. I have always wanted to go and travel around Australia and I am very excited about it. I want to thank you for all your continued support this year. I am very sad to be saying goodbye but also excited for the future. 

Excursion tomorrow

We have our excursion tomorrow YAY!! Can everyone please wear sports uniform and bring your recess, crunch and sip and lunch as normal. Make sure the children have sunscreen on and have a water bottle they can bring. We will be leaving school around 9:30am and coming back at about 12! 

Nativity Assembly 26th of November 2:15pm 

Here is a list of the costumes that will be needed for the Nativity Assembly in Week 7. Please see your childs costume and let me know if you need assistance finding something for your child to wear. We do have a few costumes at school but you may need to find something from home. Also please send me an email if your child will not be at school that day.

Vinnies Christmas Appeal 
There will be a box at the front of Year One for collections for Vinnie's Christmas Appeal. Year One families are asked to donate Christmas Goodies: Choccies, bonbons, puddings,  etc Please be generous and thoughtful in what you donate. Thank you in advance for your support and donations. 💗





Character Strengths 
Dear Parents, currently at OLC we are focusing on modeling and observing different character strengths. The strengths that we will focus on are taken directly from the VIA Institute for Character. Dear Parents  Some information for next week! Excursion We are excited to go on our annual cultural excursion with the Year 1 students having the opportunity to learn about the deep connection the Wadandi people have to the Cape to Cape region.  Josh from Koomal dreaming will take us on a Kaya tour around the lighthouse and teach us about the landscape through the eyes and knowledge of an indigenous custodian.  We are looking forward to the experience and are hoping for two parent helpers from each class who are free for the day so please email me if you are (unfortunately we will only be able to accomodate two so first in...).  We will be leaving school around 9.30 and returning about 12.00 next Tuesday 16th November.   Seesaw Please make sure you have notifications set to appear on your Seesaw app so that you are aware of each update and get a great reminder to check out the small snippet of amazing work examples by your child.  You are welcome to 'like' the post and comment

Welcome to 1C 2021

Hello and welcome to the Year 1C blog.    I hope you have all had a relaxing and peaceful holiday and enjoyed some of this beautiful summer weather!   I am looking forward to getting to know your beautiful children and working with you throughout your child's learning journey this year. My name is Isobel Christie, I just moved down south recently after Graduating University at Notre Dame Fremantle with a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. Morning time Drop Off

Hello Parents  I hope you are having a lovely week so far and you are enjoying the sunshine. Just a quick message from me.  Drop off  Can I please ask you to Kiss and drop at the door and not come into the classroom. As much as I love having you, we have a few students who need to settle in and having lots of adults in the room is overwhelming for them.
