 Hello everyone 

This week marks "week one" for both myself and your children in Year 1C. We survived a huge week of orientation and getting to know each other. I am so impressed how well the children have settled in, they have done an AMAZING job!

If you do not already know, I come from Perth and did my degree at Notre Dame in Fremantle, graduating with a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. Most of my childhood holidays were spent at our family property in Yallingup Siding with friends, horses and nature. 

As a Teacher, I feel so lucky to be given this opportunity to assist your child through the next year of their education in the great south west where I have spent so much of my life.

Surfboard Project

In Year 1C we have been lucky enough to have the special help of Leo's Dad, Chris Chapman. Chris Chapman runs a business in Dunsborough called Chapstar Surfboards making custom made performance surfboards as well as stocking a range of surf hardware. Chris took the time to make and shape mini wooden surfboards for each child in Year 1C with the help of Wyatt's Dad, Michael Dodd. The children were asked to create a design for their mini surfboard with an ocean theme. Over a few lessons, Chris Chapman helped the children create their surfboard designs and showed examples of surfboards he has made and designed himself.  The children painted the surfboards with acrylic and then used paint pens to draw.  Thankyou Chris and Micheal! Morning time Drop Off

Hello Parents  I hope you are having a lovely week so far and you are enjoying the sunshine. Just a quick message from me.  Drop off  Can I please ask you to Kiss and drop at the door and not come into the classroom. As much as I love having you, we have a few students who need to settle in and having lots of adults in the room is overwhelming for them. Excursion and a few reminders

Dear Parents  Some information for next week! Excursion We are excited to go on our annual cultural excursion with the Year 1 students having the opportunity to learn about the deep connection the Wadandi people have to the Cape to Cape region.  Josh from Koomal dreaming will take us on a Kaya tour around the lighthouse and teach us about the landscape through the eyes and knowledge of an indigenous custodian.  We are looking forward to the experience and are hoping for two parent helpers from each class who are free for the day so please email me if you are (unfortunately we will only be able to accomodate two so first in...).  We will be leaving school around 9.30 and returning about 12.00 next Tuesday 16th November.   Seesaw Please make sure you have notifications set to appear on your Seesaw app so that you are aware of each update and get a great reminder to check out the small snippet of amazing work examples by your child.  You are welcome to 'l...
